Important COVID-19 Updates:
Dear Rockbridge Area Habitat Volunteers, Donors, Partner Families, ReStore and Repair Program Customers, Habitat for Humanity International i
s working to ensure the safety, security, and health of the public and our employees. This past Monday’s announcements by the White House and CDC of new guidelines to help protect Americans during the global COVID-19 pandemic included the strong recommendation to “avoid social gatherings in groups of more than 10 people.” Given that guidance and our deep concern for the urgency of this matter to safeguard our volunteers, donors, current and future homeowners, customers and staff members, Rockbridge Area Habitat for Humanity will be implementing the following temporary changes of our operations:
As of Saturday, March 21, 2020, our ReStores will be closed for business until further notice. This includes retail sales in our stores. You may leave a message on our FREE pick-up line 540-461-3118. Pick-ups will be considered on an individual basis under specific conditions.
As of Tuesday, March 24, 2020 our build site and repair programs will not be open for volunteers and/or partner family home buyers for work until further notice.
We will continue to work with our partner families regarding financial and business matters (Donna will call you when information is needed). We ask that you call ahead if you need to access the office staff (540-463-3770). Staff will continue to work to advance the affiliates mission throughout these coming weeks.
This health crisis calls on all of us to make decisions that are not only in the best interest of our Habitat mission, but for the safety of our Rockbridge county area at large. We will be keeping these measures in place, at minimum, for as long as the new federal guidance remains in effect and continue to ask you to heed the advice of your local public health authorities.
Stay well and thank you for your ongoing support of our Rockbridge Area affiliate. Stan Ponce, Chair/Rockbridge Area Habitat for Humanity and Lynne MWJohnson, ED/Rockbridge Area Habitat for Humanity
