Rockbridge Area Habitat for Humanity welcomes everyone who believes each person deserves a decent place to live. While RAHfH is Christian-based, it is ecumenical, representing a number of different faith communities. Proselytizing is discouraged and the organization's policy has been added to the Volunteer page. It is also printed here:
Volunteers, donors and sponsors are partners in our work to eliminate poverty housing in our community. Donors and sponsors provide the funds to buy needed materials and tools. Volunteers provide labor, which helps us keep costs down — and hopes up.
Rockbridge Area Habitat for Humanity welcomes volunteers, supporters and homebuyers from all backgrounds. Anyone who believes that everyone deserves a decent, affordable place to live is welcome to partner with us regardless of race, religion, age, gender or political views.
As a matter of policy, Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize. This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must either adhere to or convert to a particular faith, or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.
