A new home dedication can be emotional for everyone participating. It is the culmination of dreams and sweat equity, mentorship and healthy financial management. Homebuyers spend a good part of a dedication ceremony looking, well, a bit nervous, knowing they'll have to say something in front of an audience of 30 or more persons. Then, the moment arrives when all the blessings have been given and prayers made and finally, the Rockbridge Area Habitat executive director hands over the key to a brand new home. The smiles, applause and sometimes tears, break out across the crowd. New lives have begun.
On Friday, June 22 at 4 p.m. RAHfH will dedicate its 70th home with Amanda Plogger and her children. All are welcome to attend and a house tour and refreshments will be provided.
